EXIGE

The transition from twisting track to open road does not faze the Exige S, with its expertly engineered suspension working in harmony with its chassis and sticky Pirelli tyres, ensuring swift progress without compromising driver involvement or feedback.

Whatever the circumstances - tight hairpin, sweeping curve or flowing straight, the Exige S is superbly poised and controlled, delivering confidence-inspiring feedback. At the slightest urge, the supercharged engine delivers immediate throttle response thanks to ample torque available throughout the rev range. Immense stopping power comes via large cross-drilled and ventilated four-piston caliper brakes. A slick shifting 6-speed manual with optimised sports ratios puts you in total control of the driving experience.

Whether in coupe or Roadster guise, the Exige S cuts an imposing silhouette on the road, instantly standing out from the crowd. From its purposeful design to its awe inspiring dynamic capabilities, the Exige S’ intent is clear. Its credentials may be proven on track, but it is equally at home on the road.

EXIGE 350 SPECIAL EDITION
Based on the most extreme Exige to date, the Sport 350, the new special edition adds a number of lightweight, performance-enhancing features, as well as unique paint and interior options as standard. Long regarded as the enthusiast’s favourite, the new Lotus Exige 350 Special Edition takes the model’s benchmark handling and raw performance and adds a sense of occasion. Packing a supercharged 345hp, V6 3.5 litre engine, and weighing 26kg less than the Exige Sport 350, the new Lotus Exige 350 Special Edition accelerates to 60mph in just 3.7 seconds (0-100km/h in 3.9 seconds) before reaching a top speed of 170mph (274 km/h). It’s also capable of lapping the famous Hethel track in 1 minute 29.8 seconds.
A total of 26kg has been removed from the car through the careful application of performance components: a 5kg saving from the use of forged wheels, 10kg from the Li-lon battery, 6kg from the carbon seats and 5kg from the vented, two-piece brake disks.
Available in four of Lotus fans’ favourite colours, the new Lotus Exige 350 Special Edition comes in Essex Blue, Old English White, Dark Metallic Grey or Motorsport Black, all finished with contrasting racing stripes. The car’s bright red brake calipers are offset by black forged alloy wheels. In addition to the special interior, Lotus Exige 350 Special Edition customers will enjoy cruise control and floor mats as standard. An integrated in-car entertainment system can also be specified, including iPod connectivity and Bluetooth functionality along with full carpets and enhanced sound insulation.
The Lotus Exige 350 Special Edition also features Lotus’ Dynamic Performance Management (DPM) which, selected via a dashboard switch, provides “Sport” and “Race” settings. Proportionally increasing throttle response, lowering traction slip threshholds and removing understeer recognition, it allows enhanced control before the system intervenes. DPM also utilises an engine exhaust bypass valve at mid-to-high engine speeds, increasing throttle response in both “Sport” and “Race” settings.

EXIGE SPORT 380
Unrivalled in its class: faster, sharper, and more direct than adversaries, the Exige Sport 380 is definitely not for the timid. With a dry weight of just 1,076 kg, and boasting a potent power-to-weight ratio of 338 hp per tonne, the new, pure-bred Lotus has been conceived to out perform and out manoeuvre so called supercars. The new Exige is blisteringly fast off the line, dispatching 0-60mph in 3.5 seconds before reaching a top speed of 178 mph.
The uprated 3.5-litre supercharged V6 engine in the Exige Sport 380 generates 375 hp at 6700rpm and 410 Nm (302 lbft) of torque at 5000rpm. Refined from countless hours of testing and development, it’s a design that’s proved its mettle by powering some of Lotus’ latest supercars. Power increase comes from a revised supercharger pulley, which increases charge pressure, an uprated fuel pump, a recalibrated ECU and the introduction of a revised exhaust system. Allowing owners to enjoy the new Exige for longer between fuel stops, it also comes with an enlarged, 48-litre petrol tank.
Lotus returned to the Lightweight Laboratory in order to cut kilos from the kerb weight of the Exige Sport 380 which features hand-made, high-gloss visible weave components as standard. This includes the front splitter, revised front access panel, new rear wing and rear diffuser surround, which together save 2.7 kg. A lightweight, transparent polycarbonate rear window saves 0.9 kg over the glass equivalent in the Exige Sport 350. In addition, the carbon race seats (-6 kg), lithium- ion battery (-10.3 kg), ultra-lightweight forged wheels and grooved two-piece brake discs (-10 kg) combine to cut a massive 26.3 kg. A new design of rear transom panel now has two rear light clusters, rather than the four on the Exige Sport 350, with reversing and fog lights now mounted inboard, cutting weight by 0.3 kg.
As with all Lotus cars, aerodynamic efficiency plays a key role in the Exige, helping it drastically expand its performance envelope. Extensive CFD modelling work has allowed Lotus’ design team to fine tune specific areas, in order to deliver a substantial overall improvement. The revised front access panel modifies the air flow exiting the car’s horizontally mounted radiators, before it travels over the car, while the carbon front spoiler and rubber lip spoiler combined with the carbon barge boards reduce pressure under the vehicle.

EXIGE V6 Cup R (TRACK ONLY)
Consider that the Exige V6 Cup is already an optimised lightweight sportscar, adding the R suffix takes the V6 Cup R to authentic competition standard. While lightness remains a perpetual Lotus pillar, the Cup R variant is another 60kgs lighter. Removing the passenger seat and much of the road trim makes it even more track-focused, while its aerodynamics package and driver‘s race seat underline its real purpose. The purity of its driving dynamics promotes the race driver intimacy with the car. The Exige V6 Cup R is a performance-enhanced sportscar developed for racing drivers by equally passionate racers. The renowned Lotus ride and handling team, at the Hethel test track, created capabilities that are jaw-dropping, in the way that only a truly-focused Lotus can be.
Underpinning the purpose-built Exige V6 Cup R is the most efficient, strongest and low weight, extruded and bonded aluminium alloy chassis-tub. Based on more than 60 years of racing car developments, its torsional rigidity is phenomenal. It allows the two-way adjustable suspension to work most productively, to provide unparalleled track grip, especially on tight hairpins and in the heat of competition.
Lotus incorporates all FIA-approved safety equipment within its Exige V6 Cup R as elements of the overall design intentions, including fire extinguisher, race seat and runners. A full roll cage keeps the competitor safe. The Dynamic Performance Management (DPM) ensures that the driver can harness the high potential of the engine and its chassis through four programmed settings, with antilock four-pot brake callipers front and rear to aid braking performance.
